Hot, dark, bitter -- the best

Where to find the world's best espresso? The Economist suggests Trieste, Italy, where the drink seems to have been invented. It would be hard to argue.

(I well recall my grandfather's percolator, sitting and bubbling away atop the stove burner, distilling stronger and stronger coffee all day.) Read while you sip.
