Britain's Daily Telegraph lists the 50 greatest cover songs of the rock era. (Many will be unfamiliar to North American audiences.) Overall, it's a better list than the Rolling Stone top 500, and it's hard to argue with the #1 cover version (which is also #48 on the RS list).
