Farewell, Word?

While I'll still be giving another seminar about Microsoft Word on March 12, I've been trying out Apple's new Pages word processor/layout application for some real-world, mission-critical work, and it's enough of a winner that I think I'll now be using Word only when absolutely necessary.

Yes, Pages is a 1.0 product, with some flaws, missing features, and strange design choices. But overall it is remarkably polished and useful. It works. And it stays out of my way when I'm crafting a document—something that Nisus Writer and Mariner Write don't quite manage for me, and that Word has become worse and worse at doing over the years.
