Back in 2001, Apple’s GarageBand didn’t exist, and I was running an old free version of ProTools on my Power Macintosh G3. I used a program called Virtual Drummer to create a rather hyperactive drum machine rhythm track, then added guitar and bass by plugging them straight into the audio jack (the guitar distortion is simply overdriving the Mac’s input). I sang into a cheap Radio Shack mic. And so you have “It Wouldn’t Hurt” (2.4 MB MP3 file) which I suppose doesn’t hurt too badly, considering.
