Back in February 2006, Chris Pirillo, the organizer of the legendary Gnomedex tech conference, asked me to record a theme song for this year’s Gnomedex 6.0 event, taking place June 29, 30, and July 1 in Seattle. He asked other attendees to send in audio voice snippets for me to include, and now it’s ready.
This is the karaoke version, with only the submitted vocal samples. “Tell Me About Gnomedex (Karaoke)” (2.6 MB MP3 file) is also available via iTunes and on the Podsafe Music Network. Full vocal and instrumental versions are also here.
Speech samples from very kind Gnomedexer contributors, and from Sarah Pullman, Chris, and Ponzi on Geek Entertainment Television, February 2006. The full song is © 2006 by Derek K. Miller (SOCAN). Mastered by Les Thorn. All versions are available under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 license, which means you can do whatever you like with them (sample, remix, share, sync to video, etc.) as long as you give me and Gnomedex credit. Okay?
