Megapixel myth

Fazal Majid has an excellent analysis of why the number of megapixels is one of the least useful measures of the quality of photos from a digital camera.

The theoretical megapixel ratings of the Hubble Space Telescope and the recent Mars landers are very low, proving Fazal's point.
