Wi-Fries with that?

A few days ago, as we were walking in the door of the Burnaby Still Creek McDonald's down the hill from us, we noticed a sticker on the door advertising free wireless Internet access inside. The Wi-Fi is not all-you-can-surf—ask when you order and you'll get 45 minutes of access with a $3 minimum purchase. You can pay $3 for an additional 45 minutes.

The project is part of a slow rollout across Canada, which began in July in Ontario.

I didn't try it out. I don't carry my laptop everywhere, especially not when coming from the swimming pool with the kids.
