My wife forwarded me some photos of ocean hut hotels in the Maldives, which are islands in the Indian Ocean that may be seriously threatened by the rising sea levels of global warming.

They are unbelievably beautiful. My question: what happens during a storm? Come to think of it, where do they get their water, and where does sewage go?

In other fantasyland news, Craig Northey reports that the jargon of self-help gurus seems to invade their followers' speech, making those people much less likeable (especially on a plane flight).
