Long and shaggy

Long and ShaggyK (who, with J, claims that I am her "hair inspiration") complimented me on my shaggy mane this morning, and asked how I achieved its particular bounce and volume today.

The recipe is quite simple:

  1. Wash with shampoo and conditioner of your choice.
  2. Apply a loonie-sized dollop of Joi Gel and work through thoroughly with your fingers.
  3. Have your wife blow-dry it out, since she's the expert.
  4. Spend the day toting kids around to school and the store.
  5. Take the next five or six late-night hours and spend them singing, gyrating, drumming, and sweating under a polyester Beatle wig.
  6. Crash exhausted into bed after removing the wig and driving home.
  7. Wake up about five hours later to rush around and get the kids ready for school again.
  8. Walk out the door after forgetting to comb or brush your hair at all.

I should send those tips to Cosmo.
